UFC Quick Quote: If Frankie Edgar drops to 145, Jose Aldo will send him right back to lightweight

"Like he (Edgar) always does, it was a pretty hard fight. I guess they could've granted him the win, but who am I to judge? There are judges there to do that. He said he wants to drop to the featherweight, so I'm hoping he does that to end this story. He's welcome here so that we shut him off and he goes to the lightweight or bantamweight classes."

Short and to the point is Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight champion Jose Aldo, when discussing with Tatame a potential Frankie Edgar drop down to 145 pounds. For years, "The Answer" has been met with requests to make the cut due to his stature, despite the fact that he reigned supreme in the land of 155 pounds before running into Ben Henderson. After losing for the second time to "Smooth" at UFC 150, Edgar seemed a bit more open to the idea of making a change, though he didn't commit to a move just yet. When the time comes, it seems "Junior" won't be a very nice host, should a bout between the two ever come to light. The Brazilian bomber says he will end that story by forcing Edgar to move back to lightweight or even further down to bantamweight. Strong words from the champ indeed. In the meantime, Aldo is lined up to defend his title against Erik Koch at UFC 153 on Oct. 13, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Should a bout between Edgar and Aldo ever come to fruition, Jose seems adamant he will make it known who the 145-pound class belongs to. Anyone out there agree?
